Life is complex in it's simplicity.

The three main walks of life, To be happy, live and survive. They say "chase your dreams" and then "No, don't be dreaming." Trying to inject my life with their meanings. It's impossible to truly live without confrontation, disputes and argumentation, people try to help, destroy and add confusion. There are choices to be made and it's hard to find our own, In this big big world you're insignificant, leaves us feeling so alone,  when others give you a break life'll still throw us sticks and stones. We all have to learn to defend ourselves and be strong but it's easier said than done, sometimes we'll find to be in the wrong side of the pavement. And patience will lead us to a place of greatness but we have to wait, as the roads aren't always in lines of straightness. Don't fall for every bait, don't start hating fate, Our lives are for us to dictate. Through damnation, frustration, causation, remember that we can

Rain.

Image
There's something about rain, Hitting grounds, slipping through drains. Soft then loud, crowded with clouds. No one speaks when nature is talking. Streets are gloomy yet colored with umbrellas walking. I sit on my bed with a book in one hand, The rain beats to the rhythm of my reads. My coffee rests on my bed side table, As the thunder reminds me when to sip and proceed. The rain keeps knocking on my window pane, It sings me a mellow lullaby. With my eyes half closed, I watch the plants rejoice. I gently fall asleep to the sound of rain's voice. *Inspired by a conversation with my best friend, Carmen S.

Things to remember.

As I vision myself looking out the windows of the plane that removes me from home, I know I will have things to remember. I will remember... 1. That even though I'm by myself, there'll be people that are there for me.  2. When I have an awful day, dad is just a phone call away. 3. Should I fall sick, mom's honey recipe is always a splendid remedy . 4. If I miss the skyline, post cards will display the images of  home guarantee.  5. Good times will be shared with the ones back at home, 6. I'll make regular phone calls to make sure no one's alone. 7. I won't forget the way I've been brought up and the principles I hold, 8. To represent my country with more pride than I owe.  9. To maintain a smile and mean it as much as I can, 10. Work out what life is gradually and have a flexible plan. 11. Facebook will be used to keep in touch with old friends, 12. Be forever grateful to the ones that comprehend, mend and cleanse me.  13. Since

Black Coffee

Image
A little neat Cafe de corner, Decorated with fresh flowers and a solid marble floor. There's wonderfully cooked homemade dessert. Tiramisu, Cheese cake, chocolate fondue that pours. On the side there's a laced shelf stacked with books, The dainty tables hold sweets of caramel and toffee, While Peggy Lee and Etta James make art with jazz, I'll do the chores from nine to four and in between I'll drink, Black coffee. Etta James, Black Coffee. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRxS7Q64xUQ Peggy Lee, Black Coffee. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqIeKYRLhno

I'll make love to jazz.

On that piano with that bass, Something lures my voice. Rolling in the silky shaped bed,  I'll make love to jazz, Scatting and swinging,  Singing slow with passion and sweetness, Hitting the blue notes as I go. Drunk in the sensual sex of each melody. 'At last' on a late afternoon, Listen to the saxophone's seduction, Please fly me to the moon.

Maybe

Maybe on a summer day, We'll cross each other's path. Pick up the courage to give it a try, Like we both know we should. Maybe on a winter day, You'll snowboard and I'll ski. We'll do all sorts of crazy together, Start by building a house on a tree. Maybe on an autumn day, We can go pick colored leaves, If we're bored we can pack, For a short visit to Geneve. Maybe on a spring day, When the weather is kind and warmer, We can marry beside the sea, On the beach around that corner.

Lost un found.

On an ordinary day, Left home to dig under the sea. Hoping to bring some treasures home, He sits so patiently. The waves were exceedingly excited to welcome A rare guest on such occasions. Through the rocks and slippery mosses, Falling with vagrancy. They cannot find him, He has not been found. Uncertain of his home bound. *This poem is triggered by a tragedy that happened very recently to a friend's father. May he come home safe and may we cherish all that we have and the ones that we love.

Graduation

Image
Who would've thought we'd all see the day, Where we would  graduate, be off and away. Four years in the same place with the same faces, In the corners of each room we leave our traces. Now we all have to part our own ways, Soon we'll face living rooms with our own bills to pay. May a map and a bible be the guide if we're lost, Return home to our families every summer, every frost. Good luck to us all in whatever we choose to do, Thank you for the people I could always turn to. With success in our reach, together let's chase our dreams, A bittersweet kiss farewell to the time of our teens.

3:10

"Three little birds sat on my window, And they told me I don't need to worry." Four clouds made the sun a little more blurry. They said "Take life slow, don't scurry." Five brooks playfully washes it self in the day. "Laughing when it trips and falls over stones on it's way" Six horses march proudly over the grass, Patient and politely they let the rabbits pass. Seven streaks of magenta orange penetrate the sky, And  "Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly." Eight windows are caressed by the wind, Subtly and slowly they seductively swing. Nine children wait for their tooth fairy, Under their pillows are buried berries as bait. Ten stars align to see who shines brightest, The moon comes out to judge the contest. *Songspiration: A little activity where the stimulus were lyrics from random song chosen by 3 f am ily members. I won't find another you.

Every time I have hope that you still care, It doesn't take too long to see, you don't really. Life is all about you and yourself. I'm honest about what I feel but I end up - 'insecure and needy'. All excuses, they're hurtful and lame. You want love, happiness, fortune and fame. It's good to be ambitious for man to build up a name. But careful, going too fast makes one lose meaning of the game. "One simply cannot have it all." Mother always said, Everyday she reminded as she tucked me to bed. You proved w hat we had isn't worth the tears that I've shed, From now on, I'll won't let you get to my head, Focus on someone that truly loves me instead. Thank you for showing me the ups of our breakup, It won't be the end of the world when we're through. I'll try to forgive and forget all the chances you blew. I'll find someone better. Please stay- watch what I'll do.  I know I won't ever find ano

"Love is art, not from bodies but from the heart."

Love is like art, It's not from the bodies, But straight from the heart. To everyone no matter what sort, Without labels without tort.

Excuse

All the songs I got, Couldn't save the love you lost. An arrow was aimed that shot down our dove. In the court, where you are king; Your love, it has always reigned supreme. What else could I have wanted? Nothing babe. Sure we've taken our turns, We took turns to clear the burns, Am I right to say they're not always for the worst? They'll be more than once where you'll think back and smile. I know you thought you could not afford, All the things that I asked you for, But I know for me, your love always came first. I'll never forget your silly comments and flaws, Nor the beautiful things about you that you say you hate. I'll remember every second of our every date. Life reminds me of your face, All the time in whatever I do, And if it takes me too long to get over you, So be it babe. I won't say that I understand when I really can't. I'm no greatness, just a girl aching for your hands. So i

The awkward poem

A sea on the desert, A window on the table. A widow with a husband, A crocodile in the stable. A tomato in the shelf, A book inside the fridge. A cow underwater, A crack on the bridge. A slipper on the hand, A beaming sun at night. A pillow on the road, A boar that is white. A Buddha at church. A TV in exams, A flower that won't blossom, A horse that makes ham. A fly as a pet, A summertime ski, A shark in the tub, A rosebud in the sea.

Dawn of dreams

Image
I dream a bed of roses, a road to the rainbow;  a land of totality, a bisque unicorn;  a vast sugar cane field and a lightning bug show.

Pimples, Population = 1 x 10^3

I give you a squeeze and you promise you'd leave, But you sneak right back at night like an army of thieves. Obnoxiously place yourself in the middle of my face, Couldn't you hide in a less obvious place? Somehow you manage to asexually reproduce, I'll soon report to the spa with this crazy abuse. The mirror stares at me with fear and disgust, It secretly mocks: "it's your face that they lust." The forehead, is the most popular destination. Bringing frequent visitors from your entire nation. If you had any conscience, please keep your distance, Life is much better without your existence.

More than a little bit lonely, less than a lot of pain.

Tonight even though you're with me on the phone, Somehow I still feel so awfully alone. I remember when we used to play our own highs, Promised each other we wouldn't lose to the fight. Yet majority won and you left me with time. I love you but so does everyone, now you're no longer mine. It's sad how life still happily skips when, you're so left behind.

Tears, why'd you leave?

Image
Listen to what I say because you belong to me, You've lived in me for always - so acquiesce to this simple request. "Do not fall, it's what weaklings do." I managed to force you in momentarily, But rebelliously, you leave so voluntarily. I breathe "Give me strength, don't leave when I'm like this." "Be strong, be calm, we can do this." While you desperately showed me I was wrong about this. You form your own little pathetic army, March out a way out of my eyes. The legion is strong but I pay the price. "STOP! That's enough." I sound like my mother, You act like a child, doing the other. I despise you tears, you try the suffer. Feel my animosity, annoyance and anger of your constant betrayal. A little respect, I should most rightfully receive. Now tell me tears, why'd you leave?

I imagine me flying.

Image
I wait outside the 12F window knowing I had wings, They spread and flap awake for the count of my ready. 1..2,3. I take in a breath of the embracing wind, "Release" they playfully whisper and I start flying steady. It's the prime time at sunset, the sun lays on the horizon. I glide with an elegant effort to get a closer look. As I pass by, the eagles welcome me to their world, Then rapidly fly across, with a rabbit on its hook. I peak down, I see I'm two thousand feet high, My room vanished out of sight but I don't mind. I stand on the peak of a tower and rest my body against it, I watch the vehicles on the lanes so strictly align. People transform to rainbow dots from way up here. The cargo ships on the sea turn seemingly small. Buildings keep shrinking like an old man's body, Nothing's scary or intimidating, finally I feel tall. Once again I take off to some higher altitude, I pass by the ocean, lakes, river

Universities, it's time to know.

I'm aware thousands of applications swamp your mail And you're responsible to read each one with attention and care, But I'm going to admit that I'm rather desperate, I check my mail every day but there's nothing there. It's been 6 months since I wrote to your university I researched and prepared so much in advance, Please send a lovely mail to me soon as possible Saying you're ready to give me a chance.

Thank you for the sounds

With earphones plugged in my ear. "Words can't bring me down." I walk home happily in my 6 inched heels. "Click clack Click clack." Passing by trees that gossiped with the wind. "Shhhhhh, shhhh." Cars made fun of the rate of my saunter. "Vrooom, beep beep." People demanded each other's attention. "Hey, the other day.." Dogs and cats glared at the foreign faces. "Meow, Grrr, RuffRuff." Winter embraced my naked features. "Whoooo, woooo." Bells of the lobby rung upon my arrival. "Drrinnggg." The radio informed me the weather. " to bring a jacket..." A playful scream escaped the second floor. "AhhhHHhH!" The air conditioner in my room whispered. "Mmm m mMm." Mother entered and turned off all the lights. "tik, tik, tik." My blanket breathes over me familiarly. "Huuuaite."                   "Thank you for the sounds."  To life I recite.

I dream a little room

I dream a cozy little room, With dim lights adjacent to the bed. Roses spilled around the sheets, A cloudy blue wall paint overhead. I dream a flat screen TV, Inside the little room of ours. Synthetic latex soft mattress, Where we lay for hours and hours. I dream your hand over my waist, Your eyes looking at mine, Warmth between two bodies, Heated by a bottle of red wine. I dream a safe little room, Somewhere they won't find you and me, There's no need to run or worry, In this room, we're trapped but free.

Valentines day 2012.

The other day I was hearing her spit rhymes, Since today is Valentines and I thought I'd take up this challenge, To see if I am ready for this climb -  I don't have a complex struggling life.  Not a life and death story to tell.  No one ever tried shooting a knife, at me. I got haters but they ain't messing if they shouldn't be.  Still I do think I have all the rights To wonder how everyone is celebrating, On this arbitrary day we wait or hate for - "My one and only" or "Forever alone."  They be telling me in continuous repetition. Over the phone or just in person. Love is optional and if you're lucky it's a bonus. "Sometimes it lasts in love sometimes it hurts instead." Listen carefully to what singer Adele said. Though love is like a fluctuating stock market, People keep investing as it's exciting and worth the risk- Like when you buy a new unheard CD disc. If one day you ask, "Is being in love stupid"  I'd s

I am witness to the brokenhearted

I am witness to the brokenhearted, And I fail to understand why. Is it really so hard to resist? When other temptations walk by. I am witness to the brokenhearted, And I question love's endurance. Time doesn't help strengthen it, Roads turn steep and treacherous. I am witness to the brokenhearted, And I challenge love's trust. When things do come to an end, How long does it take to adjust?

Time, the merciless friend

Each time I'm back I see a different face. Her body is fading out with time, And it's a hard thing to embrace. She's seen me since the age of zero, Always there to hold my tiny hands. Just like any child would, I call her my 'hero.' There's not much time left ticking, Time is a merciless friend. She sleeps, and time keeps slipping- Away from her, and I know she knows, She accepts this cruel reality, She wouldn't mind to go. Old age- a heavy, monotonous burden Mother nature is beautiful yet cruel, She awaits the final curtain in silence, With nothing left uncertain.

Will you?

Will you quit? Will you not find this too tough? Will you eventually give us up? Will you say: 'I've had enough." Will you not find it too overwhelming? Will you not be too pressured? Will you still be on standby to fight for me? Will you see the value of us can't be measured? Will you really wait? Will you prove to love me? Will you promise to stay strong? Will you give me comfort and security? Will you do more than say "I love you."? Will you strive to save my sudden sad days? Will you be ready to stand there with open arms? Will you be willing to show me the way? Will you keep me as your precious? Will you cherish our memories? Will you read my letters over and over? Will you keep them as your treasuries? Will you?

Somewhere over the rainbow.

They say somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly, But there is more unheard to that. Lurking somewhere over the rainbow, the black beauty gives life to the meadows. There's cotton candy made from clouds, and you may fly by the wings of a condor. Swings that attach to the rainbow sways 180 degrees, it's safe to fall off a place that defies all gravity. And there you find the wizard of Oz, Generously he instills you wisdom. You can ride on Aslan like Little Lucy did, Touring each corner of his kingdom. Suddenly sunsets lasts double the hour, Witness the beaches on high tide. The majesty's work on an eternal canvas, Paints each land and ocean's divides.

The Prince and the Pauper.

Ladies we'll all come to a point, When you meet a pauper that lies. Tells you he'll be there for you, But leaves you when you cry. He won't do much for you, But he said that he is trying. You'll give in once or twice, Believing his shit's worth buying. One day you might be hurt, When you come to let it go. But don't be too hard on yourself, There's something you should know. While you're in love with the pauper, There's a prince waiting in the corner. While thinking you'll have to fight battles, He's polishing his armour. Riding on his white horse, He'll swiftly sweep you off your feet. And with him by your side, You'll always feel complete. Fret not, rush not, cry not. For there's always someone out there, He'll finally make you realize, There's no one who can really compare.
