My incessant dwells

I’d like to pretend that I know myself, The idea that I know what I’m doing, Suits me well. I’d like to pretend I don’t need others, The thought that I can be strong on my own, I’ll stay swell. I’d like to pretend I can choose what’s best, The notion that I will do what’s right, I will excel. I’d like to pretend that I’m not afraid, The chimera that things will turn out okay, My incessant dwells.

Your disdain

I think you’re trying to make me uncomfortable, Is that your goal to achieve? You’re staring me down like a weird animal, Are you trying to make me leave? I see you’re gossiping to your gang of friends, On my outfit today perhaps? Commenting on everyone else around you, Do you expect to see me clap? Laughing at the timid ones out there, In what ways does that make you proud? If you’re really all that confident, Try saying your remarks out loud.

Ungrateful

When you have everything you need, You tend to forget – To appreciate, All that you have. You disregard the less fortunate, You know nothing other than what’s shown on your television set. When you’re upset, You can afford a marijuana cigarette, To avoid that certain emotion for a while. Have you ever thought about those who can’t – That don’t have the cash to buy food or water. Not even the basic wishes that deserves a grant. If you aren't happy with what you possess, confess, The sin that puts yourself in distress.
